Our Story

We have a strong foundation in the accounting industry with over 80+ years experience. C.E Smith’s origin came from humble beginnings starting initially as an accounting firm in Townsville, North Queensland out of good will. Over the 80 year span of C.E Smith & Co.’s existence it came to be divided into separate practices through-out North Queensland in places such as Cairns, Charters Towers, Mackay & Proserpine in the 1980’s.

Here at C.E Smith & Co. Proserpine our mission is:

Jill Farenelli

Jill is a founding Partner of CE Smith & Co Proserpine and specialises in rural accounting, taxation advisory and superannuation for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Vic Carroll

partner BCom, FCPA, CA ANZ

Vic has worked in auditing, accounting and tax services since 1970. He is a CPA and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Julie Macdonald

Associate Partner BSci

Julie has extensive experience in taxation, business services and auditing of not-for-profit entities. She provides a wide range of accounting and taxation services to a diverse client base.

Hannah Davies

Hannah is experienced in the preparation of Business Activity Statements, Instalment Activity Statements, Income Tax Returns and Financial Statements. She has extensive knowledge of payroll and various accounting software programs.

Jolene Peck

Accountant BBus (Acct)

Jolene is experienced in Business Activity Statements, Instalment Activity Statements, Income Tax Returns and Financial Statements. She is experienced with various types of accounting software and liaising with multiple agencies.

Chevonne Large

Chevonne works alongside small business entities and individual clients. She specialises in the preparation of Business Activity Statements, Instalment Activity Statements, Income Tax Returns and Financial Statements.

Jessica Muller

Jessica is experienced in taxation and accounting services including the preparation of Business Activity Statements, Instalment Activity Statements, Income Tax Returns and Financial Statements across a range of business entities.

Helen Robson

Partner’s Assistant

Helen prepares Financial Reports for a diverse range of businesses including construction, primary production and self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF). She is also our IT expert and has extensive knowledge of various types of accounting software

Receptionist & Administrative Assistant

Julie provides valuable assistance to our team and her roles include performing general office administrative duties, lodgement of ATO documents, accounts payable and preparing office invoices.

Administrative Assistant

Debbie supports our team and her roles include office administration, secretarial services, correspondence preparation and processing, document management, maintenance of client records, reception assistance and liaising with the Tax Office.

Jane Wellbourne

Administrative Assistant

Jane provides assistance to our team by performing general office duties including document management, maintenance of client records and assistance with reception duties.
